Is the 2007 Dodge Charger a Good Used Car?
- Overall Rating 8/10 – It’s a Dodge Charger. It’s everything you love about the classic muscle car. It may be inefficient, bulky, impractical, and noisy, but none of that matters to the fans.
- Interior, Comfort & Cargo 8/10 – Roomier than most sports cars, but the bulky visual design may have you craning your neck when parking.
- Reliability 8/10 – With excellent care, a Dodge Charger can easily last 250,000 miles.
- Safety 6/10 – Safety tech for the time was pretty decent, with anti-lock brakes as a standard feature. But it’s out of date by now, and crash test ratings were mediocre on release.
- Gas Mileage 6/10 – The SRT8 gets a measly 14/19 miles to the gallon, city highway. One more reason why the Charger is a great weekend vehicle, and a terrible daily driver.
- Value 7/10 – A muscle car is never the most practical option. But, as far as muscle cars go, the 2007 Charger is one of the best to be found for under ten grand.

My car is the perfect size for my busy soccer mom life, good gas mileage for my long commute to work. The only problem I have is in the winter. It is red and does not do will in the ice and snow. The optional manual transmission helps in bad weather. A drop down back seat would be helpful as well to put long items in the trunk.

Best chargers ever made!
MY mom bought a plum crazy purple Daytona addition and we had used it as a family car. So far we still use it and I have driven around with. Its a great car. Other than gas mileage problem that the other purple charger owner said, we have had the original radio go out pretty quick but isn't much of a problem these days. Anyhoo fun car to drive. Id suggest you buy one

Love my 2007 Dodge charger.
I love my 2007 Dodge charger. The body style is one of the first remakes of the new era of the charger. The color is stone white, not just plain white, it stands out from the other white cars. The inside has heated leather seats that really helps in the NY state cold winters. The stereo speakers are good and the radio could be better. The engine is very powerful. The only bad thing about this car is it is rear wheel drive and in the winter it goes nowhere.

Sometimes the key locks and I cannot get it out of the ignition.
The tires and wheels need to be replaced more often than my other vehicle. The drive seems rather bumpy. The dashboard is hard to clean and it is difficult to clean the inside of the window.

Dependable car for its power and size.
Reliable vehicle as far as issues go. Has good power and plenty of room. The only real issue I have had is driving in the Wisconsin winters. The rear wheel drive can sometimes be a nuisance in the winter time. Also I have had zone issues with the lug nuts stripping out. I do enjoy the car overall.

Falling apart but still running.
Well it is old, everything is falling off, the trunk has rattled from day one. The dashboard got too hot in the Texas heat and warped. The suspension is gone and the brakes squeal (even after being totally replace). It was comfortable and went fast, which is a plus. It has over 200k miles on it and still going.

Consumer Reports didn’t love the 2007 Dodge Charger. They found the steering wide, the ride overly light, the engine thirsty, and the bulky design awkward, limiting driver visibility. They didn’t have many positive points beyond some faint praise for the car’s appeal to Hemi fanatics.
Kelley Blue Book users were, unsurprisingly, far kinder to the 2007 Charger, giving it an overwhelming 93% recommendation. While admitting that the gas mileage is pretty lousy, even for a V8, drivers love the reliable powertrain, the classy high-end co*ckpit, the classic American styling and, of course, the muscly V8 performance.
Edmunds give a measured review, praising the Charger’s blend of sporty performance with sedan comfort. They liked the car’s firm handling and the fact that the SRT8 model is more reasonably priced than you might expect. But, heavy curb weight, some cheap interior plastics, and poor crash test scores cost the car some points.
What Common Problems Does the 2007 Dodge Charger Have?
The 2007 Dodge Charger’s leading cause of complaint is in the powertrain, making up more than one third of the total 561 complaints on file with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Drivers report ignition failure at under 200,000 miles, and engine stall at low speeds.
The airbags have been recalled twice, once for driver side front airbag ruptures, and once for passenger side ruptures, in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Drivers report that they’re still waiting on replacement parts as late as 2021, more than five years since the initial recall went into effect.
Drivers have reported the car going into limp mode at well under 100,000 miles, requiring towing to the dealer. Problems range from issues with the suspension and steering to engine failure, with one common issue being a malfunctioning shifter assembly.

Yes it is reliable and in the years we've owned ours other than an alternator, battery, and other routine maintenance, it has been great. There was however a piece in the shifter that needed to be replaced at one point (made of plastic) from normal wear and a air bag recall that was replaced free of charge at the dealership.

Entertainment technology in the 2007 Dodge Charger is pretty much what you expect for the model year. CD players in the Base model, six high-end Boston Acoustics speakers in the SRT8, no real surprises here. Phone connectivity as a standard feature was still a few years off in 2007.

Summarization of 07' Dodge charger.

It is a 2007 Dodge charger that is red.
I have had my vehicle for about 5 years now, and I bought it used from my neighbor. It is really comfortable to use and the performance is excellent. I have had a problem here and there, but not too serious. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a older vehicle and is on a budget.

Dodge Charger -- I like how I can easily shift to automatic to stick shift.
The seats are very comfortable and have detailed stitching that adds to the look of them. I like how the engine is able to speed up quickly and maintain speed. The car has been very reliable with very little problems with the engine. I like how the tires have a feature with knowing when the tires are low. I just wish it showed which tire had the issue.

My Maroon Charger Is Beautiful
It's a very nice car. Drives very smooth and has very comfortable seats. The trunk is big and the car is altogether a very nice vehicle. Mine is a 2007 dodge charger and it is maroon. The interior is grey black and silver with khaki on the doors. The car purrs like a kitten and it's just the best car.

It has a ton of space. You can fit three sets of golf clubs in the trunk and 5 people in the car

Dodge charger minor flaw a/ c vent enclosure.
I really do not have any major problems with the vehicle. Minus the normal wear and tear. A few minor cosmetic issues with a/c duct vent framing. The vent framing is loose and comes off often. And the repairs is expensive, more that I would expect to pay for repairs.

Sometimes hitting the gas just right makes the engine sound like a wolf.
The style of the 2007 Dodge charger is smooth. It drives smooth. Not much issue. Good on gas for being a v8. Always starts up even if it is cold outside. Seats are comfortable. It go from stop to going quick. Breaks are great. We'll only own Dodge chargers.

Pros and Cons of my Dodge Charger
My vehicle is beautiful to look at. I love how spacious it is on the inside. I also love the rev of the engine that it makes when accelerating. However, I feel as if the transmission isn't the strongest. I've had work done on my vehicle before but the engine still does this jerking motion while broken at a stoplight as if my car is going to shut off. I've taken it to multiple mechanics and no one can figure out what is causing this. My car has not given out on me (thankfully) due to this motion but it's still worrisome. Other than that I love my Charger!

The gas mileage is just okay, not great but not horrible.
I dislike that there were some recalls on this vehicle that I had to pay out of pocket to get repaired. A lot of models had these same issues but the dodge people didn't let everyone know. Otherwise I do like the car

The 2007 Dodge Charger base honest review.
While owning this vehicle for the last 3 years, it has treated me well all be it a few issues along the way. Tire alignment seems to jostle every now and again but overall is not bad. The car has been very reliable and has only had a starting issue once. This car has not required extreme maintenance but keeping up with wear and tear. I bought this car as the third owner and it has proven to be worth every dime thus far. The 3.6 engine will supply you with more than enough power to feel like a beast despite having the heart of a go-kart. This car always impresses when it pulls up even after a minor front-end crash, was able to pick itself up and drive away. I would absolutely recommend this vehicle to others as long as they are capable of maintaining the core parts of this vehicle.

2007 Dodge Charger - a Reliable vehicle for our family.
We bought it used so it does have high mileage, it is a reliable car and suits our family's needs. I like the moon roof, leather seats, and it does have AC. We do need to get the shifter fixed as a common problem we have noticed is the plastic piece in it breaks.

Great fuel economy, I have had this car for over 10 year, and I will say that I love this car. It is fun to drive, comfortable to drive, and have had very little issues with the car. I the ten years that I have own the car I have spent very little money on repairs.

2007 Dodge charger a 2018 starter car.
The 2007 Dodge charger is a fine vehicle. It's made in America so the availability of parts is there and most repair shops have worked with one before. The vehicle looks nice and looks even better in the rain. Its performance is good with a v6 engine it can certain go fast. Maybe not as fast as you would like but fast enough. It is a bigger vehicle so you need to be aware of that. It has smooth handling and a nice look for the interior. Custom gauges look nice in it, although mine glows green which I don't like. So far no issues with breakdowns or anything breaking. It is not as fuel efficient as some cars and I do find myself having to fill up at least once a week.

2007 dodge charger r/t great car with minimal repairs.
I bought my charger used with 8000 miles on it. Perfect after the break in period. I have kept up with oil changes and the only repair I have had to was brakes after 10 years. It is not the best with gas mileage but not the worst either. You will not go drag stripping with it but it does have some get up and go.

When I bought the car it was used so I do not know I had transmission problems haven't seen or had any other problems major other than the transmission I love driving the car performance is great for me I will call it very reliable because really it is always started it is always worth as long as I keep the oil changed check it for winter by winterizing overall I would say it works for me.

I like the body and the performance
Gas guzzler is really the only problem. I like the vehicle and it runs well just keep maintenance up on it and it'll run forever. It's pretty reliable being that it is older. The newer version I'm not too sure about but it has served me well for a long time

The Dodge Charger is an eye appealing sedan with a muscle car heritage.
The Dodge Charger is a very reliable car. I have had little to no problems with it and it is extremely comfortable. I have a SXT model that has leather seats, a sunroof, and aftermarket stereo. The only issues I've had are with the brakes, which was an easy and relatively cheap fix, and the air conditioner, which needed to be charged. Gas mileage, both locally and highway, is decent as well.

Other than gas mileage problem that the other purple charger owner said, we have had the original radio go out pretty quick but isn't much of a problem these days. Anyhoo fun car to drive. Id suggest you buy one

It has a 5. 7 hemi engine. Very powerful engine.
It is a great vehicle. 5. 7 engine. It is a full size sedan. Has air conditioner vents for the rear passengers.

Great family car, fits my family of 4 comfortably
Love the car, fits car seats comfortably and is a good family car, great for road trips. Maintenance wasn't overwhelming at first but lately we've had to replace radiator, ball joints, fuel injectors, all within 3 weeks of each other. Seems like when one thing goes bad, multiple fixes need to happen. Overall though I love the car and length, makes me feel safe on the road.

Perfect soccer mom vehicle. Roomy back seat for long road trips. Good gas mileage.
My car is the perfect size for my busy soccer mom life, good gas mileage for my long commute to work. The only problem I have is in the winter. It is red and does not do will in the ice and snow. The optional manual transmission helps in bad weather. A drop down back seat would be helpful as well to put long items in the trunk.

Comfort and reliability
I've bought my r/t in 2007 now have 115k and just did the front brakes for the first time and the pads still had some life left. I will never get rid of this car do the maintenance and no problems or issues. Comfortable to drive, great power and still looks better than the newer cars on the road! Took this from AZ to FL. Six times 26 mpg only issue i had was getting warned for speeding in Texas every time. Love my beast!!

My car experience 101 I hate this.
I fairly happy with my car the only thing I hate is that the car is sensitive to parts that are not it is own. So if you plan to get a car of this brand keep in mind your going to have to pay a pretty penny. More than this I have nothing else to say about the dam car.

It handles really really well.
I bought my car when it was brand new and I have always loved driving it. It is starting to rack up some miles now that it's getting old so it may be time to think about trading it in. It has been a great car so far though.

2007 Dodge Charger experience.
Overall I really enjoy my car. Ride is smooth and it is nice to have a sporty looking 'family car' as it has 4 doors, rather than 2. ? There is some rust on the body of car and the driver side window and door are not functioning correctly and that part is inconvenient and needs to be repaired. I do wish it handled a bit better in the snow. Other than that it has been a great car!

The purple beast. Why I love my husband's Charger.
My husband and I currently own a 2007 Dodge Charger srt in a limited edition plum crazy purple. It was bought brand new and has performed consistently throughout the years. The only issue I personally have with driving the car is the fact that the gas mileage is much less for day to day driving vs driving on the freeway. Other than that I love driving such a powerful vehicle. We frequently get a lot of attention because of the color and condition of the car because it looks brand new.

Dodger charger fast lovers.
I love my car and I really haven't had any problems only for the recall on the air bag, so if you decide to purchase or lease a Dodge charger make sure to ask about the air bags. Also this car is fast. You have to lightly press the gas because the take off is unreal. This car is very reliable because the motor in this car is powerful and I have had this car for a year and I haven't had any work done. The inside of my car is so spacious and you can customize it the way you want and it also has set warmers and my car model is a base model so I do not have features such as Bluetooth.

Dodge charger has something for every member of the family and looks good too.
The car has lots of legroom! We are very tall and even in the back seat our knees are not in the front seat backs. Love the heated leather seats. Has a sun/moon roof that is great for us girls who want a little fresh air but not messy hair. Ample trunk space for our tent and chairs when we go camping. Comfortable to ride in on long trips. Good gas mileage. French vanilla color is nice not too brute white. We added a spoiler aftermarket and it looks great. Easy to get serviced ( nothing special order or really expensive. Only problem is we have girls learning to drive and we never let them drive it because it is powerful. Goes better in the snow than expected.
