Book A Massage

Massage Spa in Nashville — The Lotus Room (20)

  • By booking an appointment with us, we reserve time just for you.

If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, let us know at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.

Failure to give 24-hour notice of a cancellation or reschedule by phone or email will result in a 100% CHARGE OF SERVICE(S).

Appointments booked same day/within 24 hours are still subject to our cancellation policy.

Cancellation charges are of the total service cost and are not applicable for future reservations.

WORKSHOPS | We have a 24-hour non-refundable cancellation policy on all workshops.

Why do we enforce our cancellation policy?

When you book an appointment, we reserve that time specifically for you. A last minute cancellation or reschedule is difficult to rebook. Our cancellation policy respects our therapists valuable time and income.

  • We suggest all clients arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time. This allows time to complete paperwork, use the restroom, get you settled on the table and begin the massage on time.

Please note that therapists are only permitted to work up to 5 minutes past your scheduled appointment end time.

If you are late, your massage time will be shortened in order to comply with the studio schedule. The full amount for the service is still due.

  • We DO NOT recommend receiving a massage when you are at the beginning of any illness or within 3 days of recovering.

If you are sick, we graciously request that you reschedule your appointment, make lots of time to rest and get well soon!

    THE CANCELLATION POLICY STILL APPLIES!

  • We DO NOT offer same room couples massage.

However, we can certainly accommodate same time sessions, in separate rooms, as the schedule allows. Due to high demand, we recommend booking at minimum, one week in advance. Pricing is per session based on what you choose to book.

  • Every client needs to be booked under their own name. When booking for yourself and someone else, select our ‘group appointments’ option - please make sure to enter your guests name when prompted. If you are only booking for another person, select our ‘individual appointment’ option and book the session under their name. If you want it to be a surprise you can enter your own email + phone number, so they do not receive the booking confirmation. From there you can forward them the email confirmation when ready and once they arrive, we can change their information.

  • Congratulations on growing a human! We love mommas to be at The Lotus Room! Our therapists are trained to work with pregnant clients from the 1st trimester all the way through pregnancy. We offer prenatal massage in 60 and 90min sessions which are done in a side lying position. Other services that can be modified for prenatal include our Ayurveda Massage and Thai Yoga Massage. We can still use deep pressure too, if that’s what you desire. Your body is doing amazing (and sometimes uncomfortable) things in this special time. Let us support you on your motherhood journey!

  • It’s natural to feel unsure which of our sessions fits best with your needs. So, if you find yourself torn between services, we recommend giving the studio a call and asking one of our staff — 615-412-9772.

  • We do have an infrared sauna! Read more about it HERE. We DO NOT have showering amenities, or a hot tub. It is recommend you dress comfortably when visiting us or bring a change of clothes for after your session.

  • Our studio is limited to groups of 4.

  • We offer a variety of services, at varying price points.

    View our menu here.

  • We are able to accept HSA as payment for massage!

We do not bill insurance directly, but if you are in a situation where insurance is willing to pay for your bodywork per a doctors order, or any other reason, we are happy to work with you individually! Email us at hello@thelotusroomnashville.com with any questions you may have.

  • We're over the moon you've chosen The Lotus Room Ayurveda for your first massage experience! Here's how things will flow:

Give yourself a solid 15 min head start to your appointment, as it will give you time to park, fill out our new client intake form, turn off your phone and use the restroom before your session. For the first few moments, you and your healer will chat about your mind/body needs and clarify that the session you booked is the best fit. Afterwards, they will step out of the room leaving you to undress and hop under the table covers. In a few moments your therapist will knock and enter, asking if you're ready, and your session will begin.

  • You should undress only to the level you are comfortable. For a 60min+ massage, most get completely undressed. However, if you will be more comfortable during the session leaving your underwear on, that's absolutely fine. We drape all clients by Tennessee State standards, all clients are fully covered with a sheet and blanket and only the body part that is being worked at the time will be undraped. If you prefer to stay fully clothed, then we recommend trying a Thai Yoga Massage session with us.

*Please note, we are a professional house, and reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who may question the integrity of our work.

  • Sure! If you want to talk with us, we'd be happy to chat with you. The important thing to remember is this time is all about you relaxing and enjoying the experience. In many instances, people feel more relaxed starting off talking, and as the massage progresses, enter into quieter states of bliss.

PLEASE NOTE If anything during your session becomes uncomfortable, you should let us know immediately. For example: if you get too warm or too cold, if the room is too bright, or if the pressure needs to be changed (lighter or deeper). If something is not working for you - speak up! It's OK!

  • As a general rule, we DO NOT recommend receiving a massage when you are at the beginning of an illness (scratchy throat, chills-cold, flu, etc.) or within 48 hours of recovering. Though it may seem like a massage would help you feel better, the truth is there is an increased risk that your illness will perpetuate faster, making you feel worse, longer. The risk of spreading the infection is higher too. We also do not recommend receiving bodywork when you have a contagious skin condition.

There are many ways which we can adapt our techniques during your session to accommodate (or avoid) cuts, bruises, stitches, minor injuries and burns. With some conditions it is a good idea to get an approval from your physician before you receive massage (most specifically cancer, and certain heart conditions).

  • We offer three easy ways to purchase a gift card — learn more and purchase a gift card here.

  • Gift cards may be used towards products and services at The Lotus Room. Gift Cards are valid for 2 years from the original purchase date. After 2 years, any remaining balance is considered forfeit. All Gift Card purchases are non-refundable. Though they may be transferred to another recipients account, or used for yourself. Gift cards can not be redeemed for cash.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

What is the difference between a massage room and a spa? ›

The most important difference between these two comes from their usage and focus. In general, the spa is more focused on creating a feeling of comfort and relaxation in a private and quiet place with music. Massage, on the other hand, is mostly used for therapeutic purposes and to help physical and mental problems.

What is a Swedish massage? ›

Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massage therapy. It's often used to relax you, relieve stress and relieve pain. Swedish massage often involves rubbing, kneading, stroking and tapping your muscles. If you want to try Swedish massage, talk to your doctor first.

Why is there a shower in the massage room? ›

The shower heads will then be activated, cascading warm water over your body while the therapist performs a massage. The combination of water and massage techniques enhances muscle relaxation and detoxification, leaving you feeling rejuvenated.

How a full body massage is done in a spa? ›

During a full body massage, the therapist will work on different areas of your body, including your back, shoulders, neck, arms, legs, and feet. They will use various techniques, such as kneading, stroking, and tapping, to release tension and promote relaxation.

What is the most pleasurable type of massage? ›

Often regarded as the most popular type of massage, Swedish massage involves long, flowing strokes combined with kneading and tapping. It's excellent for overall relaxation and is particularly pleasurable due to its gentle nature.

What parts of the body are massaged during a Swedish massage? ›

In a full-body Swedish massage, your therapist will usually start by massaging your back and neck, then the legs, arms, hands and sometimes the feet. This massage sometimes includes a relaxing head massage (also known as a scalp massage, Indian head massage or Champissage).

Do you wear clothes for a Swedish massage? ›

Dress what you're comfortable with, and never let a massage specialist force you to remove clothing. Some massages will require you to remove a few clothing layers, but you will always have the option of wearing your underwear or swimsuit if that's preferable.
