Guide - How to (actually) do Enderman Slayer (No Ender Relic/Artifact, No Edrag/Gdrag, No Cheese) (2024)

Section 1: Preface

I've noticed a larger uptick in people attempting to purchase carries for eman slayer. You get your noobs who just want a juju:

Buying t4 eman carries to eman 5

When they could just spend half of the money they spent on carries to get a working setup for t2/t3 emans. Maybe at this price point + considering how long it takes to kill bosses, this might be economically worth it to purchase carries to get eman 5 faster. However, when the person comes back to eman to grind to eman 7 for term, they realize they can't do the bosses, and then the messages turn into this:

Buying t4 eman carries to eman 7

spending infinitely more than it would actually take to have a working setup for t4s.

Granted, there aren't that many "good" resources for eman slayer. Looking at a good fraction of them, you might get the impression that you need:

RCM
Atomsplit/Vorpal for T3s
Ender Relic/Artifact for T3/T4s
Overflux for T3s
50k FD for T4s
Dragon pet

This simply isn't the case. In this post, I'll be going over the important things to upgrade, and the known setups to work at each tier, with how well they work listed alongside them.

DISCLAIMER: This is not a "best setup" guide. There are people more qualified to make those guides + outline those setups than me. This is a guide for working setups to get consistent kills.

Section 2: Important Upgrades

To do Enderman Slayer, you will have to have to make upgrades. There are good upgrades to do that have huge impacts on survivability/dps, there are "extras" that provide some benefit, and then there are bad upgrades that don't really contribute anything. Here are the upgrades that do the most help:

1) Deployable

AKA upgrade your radiant orb to a mana flux. You need a significant amount of mana/healing to do eman, and a radiant quite frankly won't cut it for t2+.
You likely will need to upgrade to an overflux for T4s, but people do t4s w/ mana flux with high kill FD (though I wouldn't recommend it)

2) Pet

This helps a lot more than people might initially expect.

There are 2 pets which I recommend to use (that aren't a dragon pet) that are reasonably cheap:
Epic+ Enderman
Legendary Baby Yeti

Both have their benefits + drawbacks:

Epic+ Enderman:
Epic gives max DMG reduction efficiency
Leg allows for farming eyes better in bruiser cave
Mythic spawns bosses faster

Great for High Defense builds (FD)
Bad for DPS setups (Crimson/Necron)

Legendary Baby Yeti:
Legendary gives max Strength to Defense efficiency
Gives .75 Defense for every 1 Strength
Gets better the more MP/better your armor is
Great for DPS builds (Crimson/Necron/SA)
Great outside of Enderman Slayer (Has uses in dungeons/Crimson Isles)
Limited by your MP/Gear (If your gear/mp sucks this pet sucks)

Some people find Yeti works better with FD setups, but it depends on what you have. DMG reduction is more effective with more Defense, and more Defense is more effective without damage reduction.

3) Weapon

Please, just use a katana. And upgrade it however + when you can.
If you're doing more damage with a different weapon, unless it's hype/rcm, you're doing something wrong.
For T2s you will want to HP book your katana. For T3s+ you will need to fuming it, and you should have it recommed by the time you get to T4s.

Good reforges:
Suspicious (Great for Voidedge/Vorpal, and still great for Atomsplit if you don't have hurtful)
Withered (BIS w/ Hurtful)
Fabled (Niche)

The most important enchants are (in order):
Syphon 3/4 (do NOT use Life Steal, upgrade to 4 ASAP)
Sharpness 6
Ender Slayer 6
Giant Killer 6
Critical 6 (you should have this regardless)
Use Execute + First Strike
At least basic max lvl enchants in everything (4 for first strike)
Tabasco 3 is a minute upgrade but it does at least help a little if you're not using a dragon pet

For T1s, any weapon will do.
For T2s/starting T3s, use a voidedge.
Using Vorpal can work for T4s but it is not fun. Upgrade to Atomsplit ASAP.

4) MP/Power Stone

This is probably the biggest improvement you can make, but it's less effective without the other stuff.

Power Stones:
The biggest crutch power stone for Enderman Slayer is Slender. It's incredibly cheap, effective at low MP, and gets stronger with more MP to the point of nearly invalidating survivability of high defense setups. However, it's not the fastest.
Hurtful is technically the best but it's very expensive/annoying to get.
Scorching is next but it's still about 1/5 of the cost of Hurtful
Itchy is good at higher MP but has its limits.
Bloody is ok if you need CD/STR balancing
Silky is good if all else fails and sweats use it sometimes with high mp setups w/ Withered Katana

It's a simple equation: MP gives you more Crit Damage. Syphon heals more based on your Crit Damage (up to 1k). You heal more per hit if you have more MP. With the Baby Yeti, you also gain more defense the more Strength you have.

5) Helmet

This one is more of a part 1 of 5) with 5 being gear/armor, but the heart helmets/Reaper Mask deserves its own section due to how OP it is.

The more tanky you are/more healing you have, the more unkillable you become. If you're having trouble surviving after upgrading everything above, try using a Crystalized/Revived Heart or a Reaper Mask. It may be just what you need to get to the next tier of bosses.

6) Gear/Armor

This one is probably the most complicated, as everyone has different needs/ability to upgrade. So I'm going to give "guidelines" + limits of each setup.

DISCLAIMER: ALWAYS HP BOOK YOUR ARMOR. ALL SETUPS LISTED HAVE THIS IN MIND.

Necron:
T2 w/ eman/yeti + heart/mask = easy (can no soulflow)
T3 w/ yeti + heart/mask = easy, w/ eman + heart/mask + = hard
T4 w/ 500 mp + slender + heart/mask + jasper gemstones (rare+) + yeti + overflux + atomsplit = easy, w/ vorpal = hard, w/o gemstones or slender = slightly difficult
Use summons on T4 hits while meleeing

Final Destination:

T2 w/ eman/yeti w/ 0 kills + heart/mask = easy, w/ eman/yeti w/ 0 kills = weird (can no soulflow)
T3 w/ eman/yeti w/ 2.5k/5k kills + heart/mask = easy, w/ eman/yeti w/ 5k kills w/ voidedge = difficult (can no soulflow)
T4 w/ eman w/ 25k kills w/ overflux w/ atomsplit = easy (also with yeti at ~500 mp), w/ eman/yeti w/ 10k kills + heart/mask + overflux = slightly difficult, w/o atomsplit or w/o 25k kills or w/o heart/mask = hard
Don't try mana flux without 25k

Crimson:
T2 w/ eman/yeti at basic 7 star + heart/mask = easy
T3 w/ yeti at hot + heart/mask = unknown, don't use eman for T3s w/ crimson
T4 w/ yeti at hot 7/10 star w/ gemstones/upgrades + heart/mask + atomsplit at 600 mp = slightly difficult
May need to use summons on T4 hits

Ender Armor:
T2 w/ HP Booked w/ heart/mask + eman/yeti = easy
Don't do T3s (doable though)

Holy Dragon
T2 w/ HP Booked w/ Voidedge w/ eman/yeti = unknown but doable

Shadow Assassin

T2 w/ heart/mask w/ Voidedge w/ eman/yeti = doable

Werewolf
T2 w/ Voidedge w/ eman/yeti = doable but hard without mask/heart

Trophy Fishing Armor
T2 w/ Voidedge w/ eman/yeti = doable but hard without mask/heart

7) Useful but not required items

These items aren't required but may be what you need to get that much better:
Wand of Restoration+
Ragnorak Axe
Sword of Bad Health
End Stone Sword
Gloomlock Grimoire
Zombie Sword
Soul Whip
Any summons item w/ 4 summons (ring gets upgraded with Reaper mask to 4). Use M3 tank zombies (ideal) or just use wither spectres

Section 3: Known Working Setups For T3/T4

As I've already listed the limits which outlines that most setups with a heart/mask kill T2 effortlessly with a mana flux, I'm going to devote this section purely to setups that work for T3/T4. If you have a setup that works, please LMK.

T3:

FD w/ 2.5k/5k kills w/ eman w/ mana flux + voidedge + heart/mask + slender (191 MP lowest recorded, TP in CD, suspicious) (may need to use soulflow on hits)
Necron w/ yeti w/ mana flux + voidedge + heart/mask + slender (300-400 mp, TP in CD, suspicious) (use soulflow)
FD w/ 5k kills w/ eman + mana flux + voidedge + bloody (300-400 mp, suspicious, use TP to balance stats or AS) (soulflow on hits phase)

T4:

Necron w/ yeti w/ overflux + atomsplit + mask + slender (550 mp, TP in CD, suspicious) (Use summons for hits while meleeing)
Necron w/ yeti w/ overflux + vorpal + mask + slender (550 mp, TP in CD, suspicious) (Use summons for hits + back off after 50 hits, may need to use endstone sword/etc)
FD w/ 25k kills w/ eman/yeti w/ overflux + atomsplit (starting at 450 MP use slender, after ~550 dps stones become viable)

FD w/ 10k kills w/ eman/yeti w/ overflux + atomsplit + mask/heart (400+ MP, use slender) (May need to use summons/endstone/etc)
Reaper Mask, mithril coat + 2/4 basic crimson (not HP booked), w/ yeti w/ plasmaflux + atomsplit + wand of atonement (650 MP, slender, using summons on hits phase while meleeing)

Section 4: Leveling Progression (also for Ironman)

1-3:
T1s (unless you have GS/SF + a tanky dps setup)
Make a Voidwalker Katana

3-4:
Make a Voidedge Katana (If you do not have the spheres, kill t1s until you do. If you cannot make it do not do eman until you can)
Make a Soulflow Cell
Kill T2s to get spheres for lesser soulflow engine + make + save for FD if needed
Kill T3s if able to

4-5:
(If needed) Kill T2s for FD + level up the kills on it
Kill T3s for Atoms

5-6:
Make a Vorpal Katana
Make a Juju if you wish
Kill T3s for atoms (or T4s, personal preference + capability)

6-7:
(If needed) Kill t3s until you have enough atoms for Atomsplit
Make an Atomsplit
Upgrade to Overflux
Kill T4s

7+:
It's judgement core time
