Basis Phoenix is a school known for its ability to perform and prepare well in the academics aspect of a students life. It is known as a school with a rigorous course load and tight schedule. My experience with Basis Phoenix reflects that notion. I have had an especially positive experience with the community around me as well. The students at Basis Phoenix have a mutual respect for one another. Friendships are easier here than anywhere else. Some of the aspects of my school that are lacking are its sports and events. While we offer a large variety of sports, we do not have enough funding and attention going to our sports programs for them to stand out as much as our academics and similarly, while we have a range of events from homecoming to Winter Olympics, events are often expensive and do not have typical commodities that other schools have. However, these features are on the rise for the because of student input. Overall, I have a wonderful positive experience with Basis Phoenix.

BASIS Phoenix is renowned for its rigorous academic curriculum and commitment to excellence, making it a top choice for many students and parents. The school offers a challenging and comprehensive education that emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of core subjects such as mathematics, science, and the humanities. BASIS Phoenix stands out due to its exceptional faculty, many of whom hold advanced degrees and bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to their teaching. The school’s Advanced Placement (AP) program is particularly noteworthy, providing students with the opportunity to take college-level courses and exams, which can earn them college credit and prepare them for higher education. The school’s strong emphasis on academic achievement, coupled with its nurturing community, makes BASIS Phoenix a compelling choice for those seeking a high-quality education.

My experience at Basis has a lot of positives as well as some negatives. Our teachers, college resources, academics, and support has always been top tier. The rigorous schedule the school puts upon you is balanced with the support of student hours, peer tutors, and study plans. The schedule may be brutal but looking back, I take pride in my advanced academics. The school also has a wide range of extracurriculars including some that are student run/formed. This ensures we acquire leadership opportunities and communication skills. Some possible improvements could be our sports. Not many students engage themselves enough to take our sport seriously although the coaches do take the time to support the few who are incredibly talented.

this school helps students prepare for college and university very well. i feel very prepared for the future since the classes are overall more advanced than the average high school class. however, the school struggles with having any sort of activities or events apart from academic stuff. we barely have pep rallies or events after school. sports aren’t that important since we could barely put together a team for the minimal options we are given. we don’t even have a baseball team! they managed to ruin the clubs as well by not allowing us to fundraise any sort of money for any cause, and this is detrimental since most of the clubs are made to fundraise, like Peer Advocacy Crew, She’s the First, and Red Cross. it’s hard to participate in anything since there’s no attention put towards anything fun. though there are many drawbacks to this school, i must acknowledge the amazing opportunities that going to Basis opens up. the curriculum is rigorous, challenging, competitive, and exciting.

Started at BASIS in 5th grade and it has been a ride. Contemplated leaving many times but i’m glad I stuck with it. Academics are test based and AP style (6 AP’s required to graduate) so if you learn and can succeed in that type of environment it’s perfect for you. Only thing that I really hate about this school is the limited sports and club opportunities. Most if not all clubs are student led so they don’t usually last long(except for honor societies) and sports are not funded and rely on teacher support. If a teacher leaves that lead a sports team, the team is more than likely gone. Can be a really toxic environment for some ( students are very competitive). Overall i give it a 7/10 experience.

I have been in BASIS since kindergarten, so I'm used to doing a lot of schoolwork. It's a small school, and the people are pretty nice, but most who are still attending after high school have been in BASIS for quite a while, so it can be a little difficult for newcomers to make friends at first, but as school progresses it will be easier. I like the education, even though the courses can be difficult. The difficulty of my classes challenges me and pushes me to try my best in all subjects. The worst part of my experience would be the instability of teachers, and though that is out of my control, it can make things like rec. letters and a good relationship with them hard. One thing I would like to see change is the "no phones policy". I understand why we can't have them out in class, especially while a lecture is happening, but the fact that we can't use it during lunch makes no sense to me. Overall, I like BASIS, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a challenge.

BASIS Phoenix is rightfully a top 100 high school in the United States. It employs an intense curriculum that ensures the readiness of students for even the most rigorous of exams/courses. One qualm, however, is that it is difficult to find a work-life balance when such an emphasis is placed on excellence. With this preparedness is lots of homework/schoolwork, on top of being encouraged to join both on- and off-campus extracurriculars.

I really enjoy the rigor of the BASIS curriculum, starting in middle school. I appreciate their push for students to take APs starting freshman year so they can focus on college applications and senior projects during senior year. Sometimes the electronics policy can be tough because teachers and students are not able to properly function in the classroom setting and complete all required tasks.

Basis Phoenix is a school that provides challenging coursework with many resources for students to learn and advance individually. They provide a wide selection of electives for students to delve deeper into their areas of interest and offer unique extracurriculars such as an advocacy and astronomy club. This school is just the right fit for students who hope to challenge themselves. However, one thing the school could improve on is its events. For example, having more well-planned award ceremonies and school dances.

I would like to see a change in some of the policies such as cell phone usage. I think that students should be allowed to use their phones during early bird, lunch, and late bird hours without any restrictions. I also would like to see a school library where students can borrow a book for a period and return it after using it. Some things I like about BASIS Phoenix is the teachers because a lot of them actually listen to what the students have to say.

This is a good place for the over-achievers of the world. This place may or may not suck the life out of you, but you'll be very prepared to go to college. Administrators know how tough it is. Everyone around you will empathize. Everyone understands. Once you get to Senior year, you'll know it will have all been worth it.

Basis Phoenix was a competitive environment, filled with high-achieving students, and a hard academic curriculum. I enjoyed getting to know my teachers and fellow classmates, as most were helpful and gave a sincere community to be around. The academic curriculum, on the other hand, provided an immense challenge. It was beyond our level of learning and made it difficult to keep up with. There were many times where I struggled with downgrading self-talk because I learned to define myself by my grades. Along with self-esteem, people at the school are extremely competitive and constantly trying to get ahead of one another, which means they have no qualms about hurting others to do better. While I enjoyed the preparation Basis gave me for college, I believe that there are some aspects that harmed my mental stability and would encourage them to take another look at their school system.

Basis is a very rigorous school. The classes are all taught at a very high level, but they prepare you well for college. There is a lot of homework given which is one thing I do not like about the school. Overall, my experience was not that bad. It was very stressful, but it taught me to work hard and never give up.

The teachers are the best features of this school. Most teachers are very devoted to their students and will do anything they can to help if the students ask for it. The culture of the school can feel competitive, but most of the students are really nice people and are also very willing to help their peers. The arts are not given much support here, but you can pursue some artistic talents through a few electives and some extracurricular clubs. Sports are very limited, but if you are in one you will have fun. Overall a good experience, but this school is definitely not for everyone. You have to be willing to work hard and advocate for yourself when things get difficult. But if you put in the work this school will bring many benefits.

BASIS Phoenix and BASIS in general is great at preparing students for college. The in-depth course material and advanced classes give students a great chance at succeeding in applying to college, however this high paced learning environment can put high stress on students.

Basis Phoenix is an amazing school as it pushes students to set and reach goals that are vital for their future. From my experience, it is very stressful but with the correct time management, dedication, and overall desire to do and BE better, Basis Phoenix is a great option for families looking for either an elementary school, middle school, or high school. The admin is also amazing as they provide multiple resources for the students for whatever it is that they may need. Basis is there for not only teachers, staff, but most importantly, the students.

I love the amount of freedom that the teachers provide for each assignment. I wish the school had more events to build the school spirit. They have recently started traditions for it, but I believe having a steady and continuous events would provide more funding for the teachers and the school.

BASIS Phoenix has great academic programs as well as teachers who truly know what they are talking about. While sometimes having a teacher who is an expert in their field rather than an expert teacher could be problematic, it usually ends up very well.
